Although not licensed funeral directors, these members of our staff are vitally important toward the operation of our firm. These individuals make it possible for us to professionally coordinate funerals with the quality of service our community has come to expect from us.
 | Rev. Gerald Kalb, Director of Post Service Care Office Phone: 440-357-7544 Rev. Gerald Kalb joined the Johnson Funeral Home in March of 2016. He recently retired after 29 years of ministry with the Painesville United Methodist Church. He has been very active in the community and is currently serving as our Director of Post Service Care. Rev. Kalb calls on the families after the services to check on them and their family members, offering support and care. |

 | Melissa Tekavic, Associate Melissa is the daughter of Richard and Carol. She assists with visitations and funeral services when needed. She is a graduate of Harvey High School and Lakeland Community College with her degree as a Registered Nurse. She currently works at Tri-Point Medical Center in the Critical Care Unit. She and her husband Chad have a son, Nicholas and reside in Painesville Twp., Ohio. |
 | Chad Tekavic, Associate Chad is the son-in-law of Richard and Carol and the husband of Melissa. Chad serves as a full time firefighter/paramedic with the Painesville Township Fire Department. On his days off he assists with day-to-day operations of the funeral home and assists with visitations and funeral services when needed. He is a graduate of Riverside High School and Auburn Career Center where he received his certification for firefighting and paramedic. In his free time, Chad enjoys spending Saturday nights at Painesville Speedway where he competes in Figure 8 Racing. He and his wife Melissa have a son, Nicholas and reside in Painesville Twp., Ohio. |

Chase Johnson (son of Charles and Jennifer), Nick Tekavic (son of Chad and Melissa), Caitlin Johnson (daughter of Charles and Jennifer), Adam Johnson (son of Ben and Christina), Nathan Johnson (son of Ben and Christina) and Audra (daughter of Ben and Christina).These six enjoy spending time at the funeral home, helping "set-up flowers, dusting of furniture, and greeting people at the door". One or more of them could be the fourth generation of Johnson's to continue in funeral service. |
