Helen Grace Valocchi, 88, passed away June 6, 2012 at her home in Painesville Twp. She was born February 2, 1924 in Fairport Harbor, Ohio to the late Leonard and Grace (Jennings) Ward. Helen retired from the City of Painesville after 30 years of service. She also taught Sunday School and was an active member of First Church, Congregational in Painesville. Helen was a former member of D.A.R. and Colonial Dames and was interested in Genealogy. She loved to travel and had been all over the United States and Canada and went to Israel with a group from the church.
She is survived by her daughters Christine (Rich) Tompkins, Valentina (Kevin) Hakli and son Martin Valocchi who took the best care of her. She also leaves grandsons Rick (Tiffany) Tompkins, and Matthew (Stephanie) Tompkins; great grandchildren Taylor, Devin and Maddie Tompkins and Dominic Tompkins and Dillon Hakli as well as her sister-in-law Jean Ward and many nieces, nephews and cousins Dick and John Wyman.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday at First Church, Congregational, 22 Liberty Street, Painesville, Ohio with Rev. Thomas Cofer officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Private burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Painesville.
