William "Guy" Nelson, age 50 of Mentor and formerly of Painesville, passed away at his residence. He was born February 25, 1963 in Willoughby, Ohio to Bill and Carol (Petty) Nelson.

Mr. Nelson enjoyed the outdoors, especially taking long walks. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends and will be remembered as having the kindest heart. He had been employed at Nel-Ack Sheet Metal in Painesville.

He is survived by his parents, Bill and Carol, sisters Caren (Frank) Hunchuck of Mentor and Debbie (Phil) Heath of Madison; brother Dave Nelson of Geneva-on-the-Lake; nieces Jessica Nelson and Shawnette (Lintz) Wilson; nephews Brad and Wes Heath and also his great nieces and nephews.

Mr. Nelson was preceded in death by his daughter Sammi Nelson and his brother Garry Nelson.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Avenue, Painesville.

Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Private graveside services will be held at a later date in Perry Cemetery.
