Marjorie V. Rogers, age 93 of Painesville, died October 22, 2014. She was born on March 29, 1921 in Painesville to the late Valentine and Dorothy (Snell) Rose.
Marjorie and her husband owned and operated Rogers Insurance until their retirement in 1976.
Marjorie enjoyed traveling and had been to China, South America, Greece, and most of Europe. She also enjoyed boating, sewing, and square dancing. She was a Past President of the Painesville Jayceettes, Past Sweetheart and President of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and Past Lady Commodore of the Grand River Yacht Club.
Survivors are her daughters, Bonnie (Kenneth) Skinner of Harpersfield Twp., and Vickie (David) Mowry of Concord Twp., 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, J. Howard Rogers whom she married on December 6, 1937, and brother, Donald Smith and stepfather William Smith.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 27, 2014 from 6-8PM at Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Ave., (Opposite Lake Erie College), Painesville with a service following at 8:00PM. Rev. Gerald Kalb will officiate. Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday in Evergreen Cemetery.
