Mr. William W. Rigden, age 73, passed away January 10, 2015 at his home. He was born October 13, 1941 in Painesville to the late William P. and Eltheda (Weaver) Rigden and was a lifelong resident.
Mr. Rigden was the elementary school music teacher in the Painesville City Schools from 1970 to 1985. He was very active in his church, Painesville Church of the Nazarene, where he served as Minister of Music for 30 years as well as song leader and soloist. He enjoyed photography, especially nature and cross stitching. He was an avid Cleveland Browns and Indians fan but most of all he enjoyed making people smile and laugh. He is remembered for always having a smile on his face.
Mr. Rigden is survived by his wife Nancy (Cone); son Philip (Sabine) of Germany, daughters Jennifer (Bill) Forney of Eastlake and Rebecca Rigden of Painesville. He also leaves his grandchildren Michael, Lauren and Danielle Forney and his brother John (Diana) Rigden of St. Louis.
Visitation will take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Avenue (opposite Lake Erie College), Painesville.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Painesville Church of the Nazarene, 6235 Chestnut St., Paiinesville with Rev. Terry Weyman, Jr. officiating.
