Phillip C. Vincello, 92 of Madison passed away May 21, 2016 at The Lantern of Madison. He was a former resident of Painesville for over 40 years and Waltham, Mass. He was born June 4, 1923 in Walthan, Mass to Joseph and Stella (Spatula) Vincello.
Mr. Vincello was involved in Real Estate with the Painesville and Mentor Office of Century 21 / Prudential. He was Past President of the Lake County Board of Realtors and a former board member of Lake County Hospital System and Great Lakes Commerce Bank. He was a longtime member of Elks Lodge # 549 in Painesville, Exchange Club of Painesville, and Catholic Charities. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan as well as a Boston Red Sox fan. His greatest joy came from his family.
Mr. Vincello was a Veteran of World War II serving in the Army Air Force from 1942 to 1945. He flew 35 missions in a B-17 as a Ball Turret Gunner.
He is survived by his son Joseph and daughter Sylvia (Keith) Kist; several nieces and nephews and god children; and sister Virginia Mula.
Mr. Vincello was preceded in death by his wife LuVerne; his parents, brother Sebastian and sister Anne.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Avenue (opposite Lake Erie College), Painesville.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 9925 Johnnycake Ridge Rd., Concord with Rev. Fred Pausche officiating.
Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Painesville.
