Obituary for Dennis VanLear Welk Sr.
Dennis V. Welk, Sr., age 61 of Painesville died on June 27, 2016 at Lake West Medical Center in Willoughby. He was born on September 27, 1954 in Painesville to the late Robert and Virginia Welk.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to Lake Co. Speedway, watching NASCAR, and listening to country music. He had been employed at J.P. Jenks Trucking and had been a Concord Twp. volunteer fireman.
Survivors are his children; Dennis Welk, Jr., Lori Powell, Jen Powell, Tracy Irvine, Cassy Welk, Ginny (Zach) Lester, Cari Welk; 8 grandchildren; siblings, Sandy "Sis" (Allen) Holpit, Allen (Donna) Welk, Tom Welk; several nieces and nephews; special cousin, Michael (Janet) Webster; former wife, Kym Panetti.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Dale; and sister-in-law, Heather Welk.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 10, 2016 from 1-5PM at Painesville Rec Park, 33 Mill St., Painesville, Ohio 44077 at the Riverview Pavilion.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the family.
The family thanks Donnie and Sonya Thompson for all they did for Dennis.
