Obituary for Virgil C. Taylor

Virgil C.  Taylor
Virgil C. Taylor of Painesville, died on April 3, 2017 at TriPoint Hospital. He was born on May 2, 1923 in Painesville to the late Wallace and Viola Taylor.

Virgil was a veteran of the U.S. Army from 1950-1951. He retired from Fasson in 1988 and had previously worked for the railroad. Virgil was a member of St. John Baptist Church, and Painesville Elks Lodge. He enjoyed umpiring for Painesville Little League for more than 20 years and was an avid bowler. He also enjoyed roller skating, and ice skating.

Survivors are his wife, Esther; daughters, Margaret Bradshaw of Euclid, Barbara Jackson of South Euclid, and Marian (Charles) Summers of Euclid; grandchildren, Marcus Taylor, Minette (Miguel) Jackson Boyd, Cedric Griggs, and Nathaniel Summers; several great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Virginia Taylor Miller, Edith Taylor Langster, Wallace Taylor, Jr.; sister-in-law, Willa Taylor.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Granville, Robert, Wallace, and sister, Muryel Taylor; niece, Judith Taylor Burkes

Visitation will be from 6-8PM on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Ave., Painesville, Ohio 44077. And from 10:30 until the service at 11:00AM on Friday, April 7, 2017 at St. John Baptist Church, 361 W. Jackson St., Painesville, Ohio 44077. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery with military honors.
