Mr. Anthony Yerich, Jr., age 88 of Painesville and formerly of Madison, Ohio, passed away January 13, 2010 at Altercare of Mentor. He was born November 16, 1921 in St. Michael, Pennsylvania to the late Anthony Yerich, Sr. and Mary Yerich.
Mr. Yerich retired from the Willoughby-Eastlake City Schools as a Custodian.
He served this country in World War II in the Army Medical Corp.
Mr. Yerich was a member of Fairport V.F.W. Post 7754, The Slovenian Club in St. Michael, PA and Fraternal Order of Eagles in Painesville.
He is survived by his daughter, Fern Swartzentruver of Windber, Pennsylvania; stepson Gary (Vicky) Clark of Painesville, Ohio; grandchildren, Jessie Swartzentruver of Windber, Pennsylvania, Jenny Ballas of Windber, Pennsylvania, Jay Swartzentruver of Windber, Pennsylvania, Dale Swartzentruver of Windber, Pennsylvania and Liz Layton of Windber, Pennsylvania and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Mary Craig of Willoughby, Ohio, Theresa Coburn of Mentor, Ohio, brother Francis Ruest of Mentor, Ohio, and sister Josephine Bob of Euclid, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jean and his brothers Joseph and John Yerich.
Family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Saturday at Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Avenue (opposite Lake Erie College), Painesville.
