Funeral services for Mrs. Florence May Young, age 89 of Painesville, Ohio will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday, December 20, 2010 at the Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Avenue (opposite Lake Erie College), Painesville. Mrs. Young passed away December 15, 2010 at Cardinal Woods Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center in Madison, Ohio.

Mrs. Young was born June 18, 1921 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Walter and May (Effland) Norris. She resided in the Painesville area for most of her life. She married Russell Owen Young on October 23, 1947 in Covington, Kentucky. Her husband passed away in 1973.

Mrs. Young retired from the Painesville Twp. School System. She worked in Food Service as a Cook.

She is survived by her children, Russell (Cheryl) Young of Mentor, Ohio, Christopher (Jacklyn) Young of Concord, Ohio, Doug Young of Painesville, Ohio and Barbara Fussner of Painesville, Ohio. She also leaves her son-in-law Paul Fussner, 8 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren as well as her sister Jayne Rutz.

She was preceded in death by her husband Russell and sister Katherine Kramp.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Sunday, December 19, 2010 at the funeral home.

Interment will take place in Crown Hill Cemetery, 8592 Darrow Rd., Twinsburg, Ohio 44087.

Rev. Gerald D. Kalb, Pastor of Painesville United Methodist Church will officiate the services.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund at Painesville United Methodist Church, 71 N. Park Place, Painesville, Ohio 44077 or Cardinal Woods Residents Activity Fund, 6831 Chapel Rd., Madison, Ohio 44057.
